Clara E (Gagnon) Collins

Clara Eva (Gagnon) Collins passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92 years old.

Born in Berlin, NH on October 31, 1924 she was the daughter of Euclid and Emilia (Lafrance) Gagnon. She was employed at Granite State Rubber Company and Bass Shoe Factory as a stitcher.

On February 12, 1945 She married George Collins,94, of Berlin where they lived and raised their three children. Claras greatest joy was her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted Catholic and a communicant of St. Annes Church of Good Shepherd Parish. She and her husband George enjoyed dancing, going for long rides and walking outdoors. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and gardening. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain and hold family gatherings.

She is predeceased by her brothers Raoul Gagnon and Omer Gagnon and Joseph Gagnon; sisters Juliette Dubreuil and Margaret Gagnon.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 72 years George Collins of Berlin; one son Gerry Collins of Las Vegas; two daughters Anne-Marie Collins of Pittsfield, NH and Annette Laflamme and husband Brian of Concord, NH; grandchildren, Angela Eafrati, Matthew Aube and wife Stacy, Alina Westerlund and husband Jason, Kristen Collins, Joel Collins; several great-grandchildren; a brother Richard Gagnon; two sisters Elizabeth Chaisson and Theresa Holmes; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at St. Anne upper Hall on Friday, April 21st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday prior to the service on Saturday from 8:30am to 9:30am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin. Interment will follow at St. Kieran Cemetery.
