Claire Rita Fournier

Exeter, NH

Claire Rita Fournier, 86, died on August 29, 2013, at Riverwoods in Exeter. Born on November 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Rose (Lavoie) Rheaume.

A graduate of Notre Dame High School class of 1943 in Berlin, she was employed in the main office of the Brown Paper Company before her marriage to Arthur O. Fournier on September 7, 1953. She was a parishioner of St. Anne Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. A dedicated wife and mother, she was very involved and supportive of her children's activities while they were growing up in the Berlin community. As her children grew older, she enjoyed working at the Berlin Drug Company, 67 Main St.

Claire was an expert hand knitter and enjoyed many activities around the home including cooking and vegetable gardening. In the winter, she spent time with her husband in North Ft. Myers, FL. She also enjoyed golf, traveling, and playing her favorite card game known as "Pitch". In 2000, she moved to Bedford, NH, and had recently been a resident at Riverwoods in Exeter since 2010.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers; Leo Rheaume, Louis Rheaume, and Jules Rheaume. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur O. Fournier of Exeter, NH; her daughter, Claudette C. and her husband Paul E. Ramsey of Bedford, NH; two sons, Denis L. and his wife Wendy E. Fournier of Bedford, NH, and Marc A. Fournier of Alameda, CA; two grandchildren, Brian J. and his wife Kristen Ramsey of Manchester, NH, and Katherine L. Ramsey of Quincy, MA; five siblings, Maurice Rheaume of Wiesbaden, Germany, Rose Earley of Plymouth, MA, Henry Rheaume of York, ME, Germaine McNutt of Springvale, ME, and Jeanne Perreault of Keene, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 12 PM at St. Anne Church, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, NH. Burial will follow in St. Kieran Cemetery, Berlin, NH.
