Cecile M Nelson

Cecile M Nelson of Portland Maine passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014. She was 89.

She was born in Berlin on June 15, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eugenie (Gagne) Roy.

She is a graduate of Berlin High School, class of 1942.

She served in the Navy during World War II.

She married Downing Nelson on September 9, 1950.

She was employed by E.W. Noyes & Sons in Portland ME as a Secretary/Clerk. She retired in 1988.

Cecile and Downing enjoyed traveling. They have been to Hawaii, Europe, Canada and many places throughout the United States.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Eli Roy and her sister Theresa King.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Lise Laverture, Michael Roy, Brian King, Wayne King, Sandra Shotts and Brenda King; she also leaves behind a very dear great-niece Kendra Patchett of Spokane Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at St Anne Cemetery in Berlin.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin. (please use School St entrance)
