Cecile M. Guay

Mrs. Cecile Marie Guay, 86, of 28 Cross Street in Gorham, NH passed away on October 27, 2006 at the St. Vincent dePaul Health Care Center in Berlin after a brief illness. She was born in Berlin, NH on July 24, 1920 the daughter of Jean Batiste and Henrietta (Dion) Cote. She was a lifelong resident of Berlin and attended Berlin Schools. During WW II she worked in Hartford, CT for Colt Manufacturing as a lathe operator. She had been a homemaker for her husband and three children. She was a member of the Holy Family Church in Gorham. She enjoyed keeping in contact with her family including her daughter, sons, grandchildren and great children and she also enjoyed playing card games with Mrs. Yolande Bisson, who was one of her longtime caregivers. Members of her family include her daughter, Lorraine Prince and her husband Gary of Stratham, NH; two sons, Paul J. Guay and his wife Constance of Gorham, NH and Albert Guay and his wife Mary of Dummer, NH; eight grandchildren , Shelley Prince Blood and her husband Greg of Stratham, NH, Maxine Guay of Boston, MA, Andrea Guay of Portsmouth, NH, Kevin Prince and his wife Allysa of Marblehead, MA, Brian Prince and his wife Leah of Nashua, NH, Jason Guay of Berlin, NH, Christopher Guay and his wife Heather of Dummer, NH; three great grandchildren, Tyler Blood, Brandon Blood, and Lily Blood all of Stratham, NH; one sister Germaine Gagne of Berlin, NH; 2 brothers Edmond Cote and his wife Lucille and Joseph Cote, all of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband George Guay who passed away on May 17, 1992; a brother John Cote and his wife Corrine, a brother Alfred Cote and his wife Bertha and brother Roland Cote. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated on Saturday afternoon, October 28, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Healthcare Center Nursing Fund, 29 Providence Avenue Berlin, NH 03570.
