Carroll H. Holmes

Carroll H. Holmes, 79, of Berlin, NH, passed away on Thursday January 8, 2015 at the St. Vincent Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Berlin on September 7, 1935 the son of John and Helen (Eisnor) Holmes. He served with the US Air Force and upon discharge, he lived in Berlin. He had been employed as a millwright at Brown Company and James River Corp and prior to that, he had been employed at the Auto Mart. Carroll was a member of the VFW Post #2520, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Family includes his children Helen Clarke of LA, James Holmes of LA, David Holmes of LA, Jay Clanton of NJ, Tim Bishop of Berlin, NH and Angelica Holmes of Augusta, ME; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; his mother Helen Lamontagne of Gorham, NH; his brother Jack Holmes of Gorham, NH and FL; a nephew and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 16, 2015 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 9 to 10 AM, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors in his memory.
