Carolyn Jaine (Ridley) Barclay

February 22, 1961 — June 15, 2020

Carolyn Jaine (Ridley) Barclay, 59, Ctr. Ossipee formerly of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2020.

She was born in South Weymouth, MA on February 22, 1961, a daughter of the late James F. Ridley and Jaine (Porter) Crowley. Carolyn attended Abington, MA schools and was a 1979 graduate of Abington High School.

Prior to moving to New Hampshire, Carolyn worked as a waitress at Teals Cabin in Abington as well as Vin & Eddies and Bellas. She loved the beach and spent many a sunny day at Nantasket. Carolyn also loved cookouts and being with family. With her extended family living in Wisconsin and California, she always looked forward to their visits.

While in Berlin, Carolyn worked as a Dietary Aide at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home where she made many friends. She later moved to Ctr. Ossipee where she has greatly enjoyed living "in the woods". In later years, Carolyn looked forward to taking trips to Wisconsin at Christmas time to be with her son and daughter. She was a caring lady, always trying to look at the bright side and always with a kind word for a friend or family member. She will be sadly missed.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, William "Billy" Barclay of Rockland, MA, her son, James Arthur (Tina Van Dyke) Beaton of Appleton, WI, her daughter, Hillary Mather Sullivan of Boston, MA, her step-daughter Chelsea (Michael) Ruginski of Whitman, MA. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Diane Beaton, to whom she was very close. She leaves her grandchildren: Mackenzie Eva, Morgan Porter, Madison Elizabeth, Alex William, Owen, along with Isaac and Levi. She also leaves her in-laws, Robert and Mary Barclay of Rockland, MA, several aunts and uncles, many cousins and many dear friends from her childhood who have meant a great deal to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Stephen Ridley, her sister, Suzanne Hammond as well as other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank her AA family. We acknowledge her struggles and we are deeply appreciative of the efforts they have made over the years.
