Mr. Bruce R. Brofman, 59, passed to his greater reward on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Bruce was born in Concord, NH on June 24, 1951, the son of Julian and Thelma (Borofsky) Brofman and was raised in Concord. He obtained his B. S. from Keene State and his Masters Degree from Suffolk University in Boston. Bruce came to Berlin in 1978 and retired from the State of NH in 2008, after 30 years as a social worker. In those years, he worked as a Child Protective Worker and as a Foster Care Worker. Bruces greatest concern was doing what was best for the children. He liked to travel and go camping. His family will fondly remember the trips to Disney and the weeks spent at Elacoya State Park in Gilford, NH and at Baileys Pine Point Resort in Scarborough, ME. He had been an Assistant Scout Master, he loved to fish and drive his little orange MG Midget car. Bruce was a member of Temple Beth Jacob in Concord, of which he maternal grandfather was a founding member. Members of the family include his wife Victoria (Cole) Brofman of Berlin, NH; his daughter Chelsea Brofman of Somersworth, NH; his son Daniel Brofman of Berlin, NH; his fraternal twin Nathan Brofman of New Port Richey, FL; his sister Joyce Berney and her husband Charles of Sanbornton, NH; his sister Leslie Brofman of New Port Richey, FL; his step-mother Jeannine Brofman of NH and FL; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his 3 dogs Riley, Bimini and Jack and his kitty, Roger. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the Norris Cotton Cancer Research Center, One Medical Center Dr., Office of Development-Amy Schrom, Lebanon, NH, 03756.
