Beverly J. Petersen, 79, of Milan, NH, passed away on July 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was born in Goffstown, NH and graduated from Hollis High School in Hollis, NH in 1958 and just enjoyed her 60th class reunion and 60th wedding anniversary. Beverly has resided in Milan for the past 20 years and prior to that, she had lived in Brookline, NH for 40 years. She and her husband, Robert, raised their three children in the Brookline home, during which time she enjoyed running Petersen's Equestrian Academy which included horse competition, lessons and boarding. She and her daughters competed for about 20 years and were awarded many state championship awards. Beverly later worked for Sanders/Lockheed in Nashua, NH. After her retirement and the 15 years that followed, she devoted much of her time to a new passion, competing in New Englands Cowboy Action shooting events. Her nickname was Crack Shot Bev and she was a member of the Dalton Gang who dedicated a chapel in her name. She was an avid seamstress and hand made all of the Victorian era clothing worn at these competitions, for which she won many awards. She also enjoyed traveling, boating, snowmobiling and motorcycling as well. She was a devoted Christian woman and an active member of the Word of God Christian Church, and its worship team, in Dummer, NH for many years. She had a zeal for life that was unsurpassed, happiness and joy filled any room she walked into. Beverly was always helpful and kind to others and brought beauty and grace into everything she did. She had many, many friends and will be sorely missed by all of those who knew and loved her dearly. Family includes her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Robert E. Petersen of Milan, NH: three loving children, Christine Holmes of Warner, NH, Beverly Lynch of Brookline, NH and Erik Petersen of Webster, NH; grandchildren Matthew Livingston, Michael Lynch, Kimberly Lynch, Kathrynn Petersen and Jonathan Lynch; great grandson Jason Lynch; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several siblings. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 20, 2018 at 4 PM at the Word of God Christian Church, 11 Hill Road, Dummer, NH, 03588, which is located off of the East Side River Road. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 3 to 4 PM, prior to the service. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net
