Bettina E. (Tina) Hayes, 63, of Shelburne, NH, passed away peacefully at her home with members of her family by her side on 5 June 2015 after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. She was born in Berlin on 10 July 1951 the daughter of Andrew and Beth (Richardson) McKenzie, Sr. and grew up and went to school in Berlin, graduating from Berlin High School in 1970. She married Timothy Hayes on 19 September 1975 and they had one daughter, Crystal. They enjoyed seeing different places and enjoyed living in West Texas, West Berlin, Germany, Heidelberg, Germany and Calais, Maine before they settled in Shelburne for the last 29 years. While in these places, she took every opportunity to travel and see as much as she could. Family includes her husband Timothy Hayes of Shelburne; daughter Crystal Bailey and husband Tadd of Twin Mountain; grandson Camden Bailey of Twin Mountain; mother Beth McKenzie of West Milan; brothers Andrew McKenzie, Jr. of Berlin, Rick McKenzie and wife Gisele of Berlin and Timothy McKenzie and wife Joy of Chapel Hill, SC; sisters Melinda Mann and husband Steve of Concord, Caroleen Dudley and husband Steve of Rangeley, ME and Kimberly McKenzie of Somersworth; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Andrew McKenzie, Sr., sister Ilene Kollar and brother Eugene McKenzie. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2015 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. Interment will be in the Lead Mines Cemetery on the North Road in Shelburne. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to Northwoods Home Health & Hospice, 278 Main St., Lancaster, NH, 03584 or the American Cancer Society.
