Bertha R. Blais

Bertha R. (Dumoulin) Blais, 92, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday May 22, 2016 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in East Hereford, PQ, Canada on September 17, 1923 the daughter of the late Leon and Lillian (Pelchat) Dumoulin and has been a resident of Berlin for most of her life. She married Gerard Blais on May 4, 1946 and had worked for Tri County CAP cooking for Senior Meals and at the weekly BINGO games. Bertha was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and enjoyed BINGO, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren. Her house was never empty. Family includes her daughter Anita Belval of Berlin; sons Raymond E. Blais and wife Peggy of Berlin and Paul G. Blais and wife Candy of Berlin; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers Leo Dumoulin and wife Denise of Berlin and Roland Dumoulin and wife Mary of New York; sister Rita Blair and husband Victor of Berlin; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard in 1973, grandson Jonathan Blais, great granddaughter Alexandria Marie Rich; son-in-law Gerard Belval and 5 siblings, Rene, Robert, Gerard, Arthur and Lauretta Gagne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 26, 2016 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
