Barbara Jean Lachance of 4th Avenue passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at her home following a short illness. She was 55.

Born on April 3, 1958 in Milford, Mass, she was the daughter of Harold and Jean (Fior) Sweeney.

Barbara grew up in Millville, Mass.

She was employed as a housekeeper at the Royalty Athletic Club in Gorham for many years. She enjoyed the many people she encountered and made many friends while working there.

She enjoyed trips on the motorcycle with her husband Ben, going to the beach, travelling to Mexico, sitting by the pool and fire with friends and family, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and especially keeping up with the Berlin Football Association.

Her father Harold Sweeney died before her.

She leaves her husband Benoit "Ben" Lachance of Berlin, two daughters: Kelly Perry of Gorham and April Perry of Berlin; three grandchildren: Alexa Pelkey and Devin Manchester both of Gorham and Nicholas Perry of Berlin; her maternal grandmother Edith Albin of Pittsfield, ME; two step-sons: Roland Lachance and David Lachance both of Gorham; Two step-grandchildren: Kyle Lachance and Karyssa Lachance both of Gorham; Two brothers: Harold "Chucky" Sweeney of Berlin and Dennis Sweeney of Pascoag, RI; a sister Charlene Sousa and husband Lionel of Pascoag, RI; Nephews: John Scungio Shawn Scungio, and Aiden Sweeney all of Pascoag, RI.

There are no services scheduled at this time, the family will hold a private gathering at a late date.
