Barbara J. Murray

Barbara J. Murray, 81, of Berlin passed away on Monday evening April 4, 2016, at Polk City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Polk City, Iowa. Mrs. Murray was born in Windber, Pennsylvania on January 20, 1935, the daughter of John and Margaret (Matcho) Novatny. She traveled with her husband Joseph during his military years and has resided in Berlin since 1976. Barbara was a member of St. Anne Church, VFW Post 2520 Ladies Auxiliary and the Androscoggin Valley Hospital Auxiliary. Family members include four sons; Michael Murray of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Murray of Ankeny, Iowa, Stephen Murray of Phoenix, AZ and David Murray of Woodward, OK; three brothers Joseph Novatny of Bedford, PA, John Novatny of Salex, PA and Stephen Novatny of Johnstown, PA, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 11, at 9AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Burial will be in NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Sunday from 4-6 PM.
