Mr. Arthur John Garneau, 74, of 12 Paradise Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Sunday November 6, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. He was born in Laconia, NH on January 30, 1931 the son of Arthur Henry and Laura (Conroy) Garneau and lived in the Berlin area since childhood. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1949. He had been employed by Brown Company, James River Corporation and Crown Vantage for 43 years and retired in 1992. He was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. He enjoyed his camp on Akers Pond in Errol and wintered in Lake Wales, Florida. He was a proud member of Theater North. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family. Members of the family include his wife of 54 years Kathleen (McKelvey) Garneau of Gorham, NH: 2 sons Michael John Garneau of Nashua, NH and Patrick James Garneau of Berlin, NH; 2 daughters Kathleen A. Belisle of Berlin, NH and Colleen Marois of Berlin, NH; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Jack Garneau of Laconia, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his step-father William Goudreau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 11, 2005 at 1:30 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 967 Elm Street, Manchester, NH, 03101.
