Arthur H. Martel, Jr of Maynesboro Street passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH following a brief illness. He was 70.

Born on June 21, 1942 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Arthur H. and Anita (Demers) Martel, Sr.

A lifelong resident of Berlin, he attended Berlin Schools. On September 17, 1974 he married Donna L. Robinson of Berlin.

Arthur retired from the James River Corp after 20 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling, spending time with his family, and often would spend time sitting in Gorham Park. He will be remembered for his humor.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a sister Shirley Bourassa, Lillian Martel, and Rita Martel.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Donna L. Martel of Berlin, A daughter Paula Fortier and her husband Paul, Jr of Gorham, NH A son Roger Martel of Lewiston, Maine

Grandchildren: Trisha Fortier, Natasha Fortier, Paul Fortier, III, Shelby Martel Skyler Martel and Duke Martel.

A great-grandson Cameron Boudreau of Gorham, NH.

Brothers: Normand Martel of Hampton, NH and Albert Martel of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Sisters: Lucille Frechette, Laurette Michaud, Aurore Lavoie, Cecile Poulin, and Doris McDonald all of Berlin, N H.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
