Annette S Couture

Annette S. Couture, 96, passed away at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Berlin on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, where she had been a resident since February of 2005.

Annette was born in Berlin on September 23, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Rose (Marcoux) Samson. On April 22, 1940, she married Leo T. Couture, and together they raised three daughters and one son.

She was a member of the St Kieran Parish and, more recently, the St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

Her greatest love was her family. She and her husband, Leo, spent many wonderful years together in what was always their beloved family home on Denmark Street in Berlin. Once their children had grown, Annette enjoyed many years of part time employment at the Hall of Greetings on Main Street in Berlin. Following Leo's retirement in 1973, the couple spent several years of long neighborhood walks and cross-country skiing adventures in the forests around Berlin. Although she was responsible for the planning of many family vacations to various Northern New Hampshire lakeside cottages over their family years, Annette's true love was the ocean. Her family was able to hold family get-togethers with Annette at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, for a few years just prior to Annette's residency at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.

She is survived by her daughters, Lois Rivard and her husband Robert of Plaistow, New Hampshire; Sharon Lamontagne and her husband Richard of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Camille Caron and her husband Maurice of Berlin, New Hampshire; and her son, Leo 'Paul' Couture and his wife Judith of Claremont, New Hampshire. Annette also leaves 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren as well as Couture family nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo T. Couture who died on December 14, 1996, her one sister Lita Samson, and her parents. . There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, May 10, 2013, at St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Burial will follow in the St. Kieran Cemetery in Berlin.
