Amanda L. Boucher

Berlin, NH

Amanda (Laventure) Boucher, a longtime resident of Fourth Avenue, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 following a period of declining health at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home in Berlin where she had resided for the past seven years. She was 97 years old.

Amanda was born in Black Lake PQ, on October 3, 1915, a daughter of the late Willie and Alvina (Fortier) Laventure. On October 2, 1937 she married Alfred Boucher and the two raised two sons and one daughter. She and Alfred moved to the United States in 1941 from Stoke Centre, P.Q. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family, she was a very loving, caring and devoted, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, berry picking, visiting relatives in Canada and spending time with family and friends. She visited Nova Scotia, Alaska and California

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred on August 23, 1964, a son Laurier Boucher (May 19, 2013), and two sisters; Yvonne Gendron and Etoilda Riendeau. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Jacques of Berlin, her son Laurent Boucher and his wife Carol of Berlin, and daughter-in-law Suzanne Boucher of Wentworth Location and Berlin; a sister Rita Gendron of St. Phillip, P.Q.; four grandchildren Brenda Letellier and her husband Craig of Milan, Alfred Boucher and his wife Laurie, Dave Boucher, and Danny Boucher and his companion Rachelle all of Minnesota; 14 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

A service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, July 10 in the parlor of Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH. Deacon Jeff Paveglio will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Berlin. There are no calling hours.
