Alton A. Watson

Alton A. Watson, 80, of Berlin, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin on May 16, 1937 the son of Percy and Helen (Dickinson) Watson and lived in Berlin most of his life. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1956 and was a US Army Veteran. Alton had been employed by the City of Berlin Public Works Department for 33 years. He was an avid supporter of youth hockey and was involved with Little League baseball, but his main passion was for his family. Family includes his children Catherine J. Arnault and husband Steven of Nottingham, NH, James A. Watson and wife Sue of Jefferson, NH and Matthew M. Watson of Newmarket, NH; a sister Priscilla Guitard of Berlin, NH; brothers Richard Watson and wife Muriel of Groveton, NH and Ronald Watson and wife Cathy of Berlin, NH; 5 grandchildren 1 great grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Watson, a daughter Julie A. Roy and a brother Donald Watson. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the American Heart Association.
