Mr. Alphonse M. Goddard, 86, of Berlin, NH passed away on Aug. 9, 2005 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Ham Sud, P.Q. Canada September ll, l9l8 the son of Ernie and Lucina (Guay) Goddard and has lived in Berlin NH since l920. Prior to his retirement in l980 Mr.Goddard was employed as a millwright for the Brown Company. He was a member of St.Anne Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, The Millsfield Sporting Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles and The Androscoggin Valley Country Club. His wife of 64 years, Lydia M. Goddard, passed away on the same day. Members of the family include two daughters Jeannette Morneau of Gorham NH and Paulette Lowry of Madison NH; four grandchildren Kenneth L. Lowry, Elizabeth A. Reus, Michael R. Morneau and Matthew J. Morneau; 3 great-grandchildren Owen L. Reus, Ethan R. Reus and Rachel Anne Morneau; his brother Normand Goddard of Concord, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Friday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
