Alice J Labonte

Alice Jeanne (Carrier) Labonte, a longtime resident of Champlain Street, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. She was 95.

Born on November 12, 1918 in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of Wilbrod and Maria (Bourgeault) Carrier.



Alice attended St. Regis primary school and was a graduate of the Class of 1937 from Berlin High School.

On June 17, 1940, she married Hector J. Labonte and together they raised a son and two daughters. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his passing on March 8, 1980.

In earlier years, Alice was employed at the A&P Grocery Store and later as a bookkeeper at Notre Dame High School. She retired as bookkeeper from Dumont Furniture Store in Berlin.

She was a communicant of Guardian Angel Parish now St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

Her favorite past times were playing cards and crossword puzzles.

Besides her parents and husband, she is pre-deceased by two brothers Henry & Oscar Carrier and two sisters Doris Dupuis and Yvette Dinardo. She leaves one sister, Jeanne Hermsdorf of Bedford, NH.

She also leaves a son Paul Labonte and wife Landy of Bedford. NH, two daughters Louise Favreau and husband Paul of Berlin, Susan Grondin and husband Joseph of Farmington, NY, 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Burial will be at the family plot St. Kieran Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
