Albert E. Robichaud, 88, of Berlin, passed away on Thursday February 25, 2016 at the Coos County Nursing Home. He was born in Berlin on December 31, 1927 the son of the late Joseph and Marie Ann (Bisson) Robichaud and was a lifelong resident. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1945 during World War II and had served in Guam. Albert worked for Brown Company from 1952-1966 and then had been a mail carrier for the Post Office, retiring in 1989. He had been the shop steward of the Postal Union Local 1636, was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, was a Life Member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus where he had served as treasurer. He worked at Bingo with his wife Pauline (Theriault) Robichaud to whom he was married for 51 years. He enjoyed fishing with his sons when they were growing up and was an avid golfer. In the winter, he enjoyed downhill skiing and especially cross country skiing. Family includes his sons Brian J. Robichaud and wife Barbara of Aurora, CO and Ronald A. Robichaud and partner Joanne of Gorham, NH; granddaughter Christine of San Antoinio, TX and grandson Adam of Aurora, CO; he will be missed dearly by his long-time companion Velma Lavoie, brother Robert Chief Robichaud of Berlin, NH; sisters Cecile Marcou of Punta Gorda, FL and Irene Chick Blais of Berlin, NH: nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Theriault) Robichaud and brothers Paul, John and Leon. At his request, private calling hours and funeral will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin. The family wishes to thank the medical and nursing staff at AVH, DHMC and especially the Coos County Nursing Home for the exceptional care and support provided during the final weeks of his life.
