Alan R. Froding

Alan R. Froding, 76, of Hollis, Maine passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He was born in Portland, ME on January 28, 1941 the son of the late Oscar and Laura (Ross) Froding. After graduation from Deering High School he served in the United States Navy and later in the Naval Reserves. Following his military service he worked at SD Warren in Westbrook for many years until his retirement in 1996. Alan and his wife enjoyed their summers at their camp at Cedar Pond with their friends. Members of the family include his two daughters Bonnie Wintle and husband David of Hollis, Maine and Judy Rose and husband Dan of Buxton, Maine; a sister Jane Harrington of Chebeague Island, Maine; and four grandchildren Matthew, Ashlyn, Connor and Sawyer. He was predeceased by his wife Lois in 2014. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin, NH on Friday July 13, 2018 at 10:00am. The family invites relatives and friends to attend a Barbecue at the Cedar Pond Campground in Milan at 12 noon following the service. New Hampshire arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin & Gorham, NH.
